I can't believe it's not StarCraft!
You're the red player. Left click to select units; you can drag to select a group of units, or double click to select all units of a kind. Right click to give an order. You should start by ordering your workers (those are the little red/grey guys with treads and claws) to some resources (Blue clusters)
To build a unit, select a building and right-click the icon of the unit you want to build. You need enough resources to afford it. Your resources are listed on the top of the screen, and the amount a unit costs under the unit's icon.
You can build a building by selecting a worker and right-clicking the building's icon. Having more buildings means you can build more advanced units!
The units you start with are your workers and base. Only workers can mine. Besides workers and buildings, the human units are soldiers (average units with a ranged attack), tanks (it has splash damage!), and scouts (fast, fragile, with a very short ranged attack).
The bugs, being alien nasties from the depths of space, have completely different units. You'll have to figure out what they do on your own (by being eaten). Try to have a good idea what the bug units do by the seventh level, because... there's a surprise waiting for you.
